INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARD
About SMU’s IRB
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews all research involving human subjects proposed by full-time or adjunct faculty, staff, and students affiliated with SMU. The IRB aims to generate research that is not only scientifically sound but conducted with diligence and integrity and in full compliance with internationally established standards of research ethical principles.
The SMU-IRB has been in full implementation since 1 January 2008. All research and collection of research data involving human subjects require SMU-IRB’s approval.
