The Workshop on Analytics for Business, Consumer & Social Insights (BCSI 2015) is intended to promote new research and the sharing of new ideas on interdisciplinary topics involving data analytics as a way to showcase directions for research involving Computational Social Science. This year’s theme is ‘Policy Analytics’. It will have an emphasis on the aspects of data analytics that lead to policy insights in the various disciplines, organisational and social settings where such research is highly relevant, including modeling analytics and simulation.
Coverage in the past has included consumer behaviour in network environments; digital entertainment, information goods and media markets; transportation and logistics optimisation; electronic auctions and markets; and airlines, financial services and hospitality applications. The workshop has also hosted innovative big data-based experimental designs; Internet search and pricing research; discussions of intellectual property rights; and studies of location-based and mobile systems, online ads, prediction markets, and social media applications.
This year’s workshop continues this tradition by emphasising research that spans Statistics, Econometrics, Behavioural Science, Sociology, Management Science, Operations Research, Information Systems, Psychology and Computer Science methods involving big data.
