The Ministry of Education (MOE) Tier 3 programme provides funding for large-scale research programme that has economic and societal impact by bringing together collaborative teams of experts within SMU and/or across universities in Singapore.
The overall objectives of Tier 3 are listed below for your reference. Please refer to the MOE document for more details.
| a. | Support for the best ideas Tier 3 will fund new, high impact research and development (R&D) areas, so as to allow the best scientific ideas to flourish. |
| b. | Synergy Tier 3 will build upon intra-university and inter-university synergies to consolidate research expertise in research programmes. |
| c. | Talent Tier 3 will support the work of world-class investigators in conducting high quality and high impact research in Singapore. |
| d. | Capacity Building Tier 3 will augment research capacities in the local research-intensive Autonomous Universities in the pursuit of research excellence. Tier 3 will support longer-term investigator-led research so as to allow Universities to build up expertise in key thematic areas. |
