SMU thanks and wishes farewell to its 2 international PhD student representatives on the East Asia and Pacific Institutes (EAPSI) programme

David Fuhry
PhD student from Computer Science & Engineering
The Ohio State University, Columbus
  Paul Taele
PhD student from Computer Science & Engineering
Texas A&M University, College Station

David and Paul, who visited SMU from 10 June to 2 August on the 2013 EAPSI programme (administered in the United States by the National Science Foundation and co-sponsored in Singapore by the National Research Foundation) completed their research projects and presented their findings at the closing ceremony held on 2 August 2013 at NUS.

Paul talks about his experience at SMU…

‘The research infrastructure at SMU was very professional. I felt that given the time and availability to resources that I had with my existing research schedule over the summer, I felt that the programme was very valuable to my development as a researcher. I was very impressed by the research culture in Singapore and would be very receptive to a research future in the institutions within the country.’

SMU wishes them the best in their future endeavours!
