35 new PGR students attended the welcome briefing organised by PGR office on 14 August 2013.
The students were provided an outline of important SMU PGR policies and guidelines. The students were also provided with an overview of (1) SMU’s library and its services, as well as the institutional repository; (2) academic and non-academic conduct (eg. student code of conduct and plagiarism); (3) information technology resource services (eg. research software and computational resources); and (4) alumni relations (eg. how students can be part of networking events and other benefits that they can enjoy at SMU). The international students were particularly informed of available programmes and activities that can help them adjust into SMU and Singapore.
