SMU inks MOU with Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs

SMU and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote collaboration between both parties on education, technical consultancy, and research and development (R&D) in the area of Information Science. The MOU marks the strong partnership between the two organisations and enables both parties to jointly identify areas and topics within Information Science that are suitable for further R&D and promote the development of knowledge, expertise and training in these areas.

Under this MOU, SMU and MHA have mutually agreed to support research collaboration and technical consultancy projects within the field of Information Science, such as agent-based simulation, data analytics, game theory, graphical models, stochastic optimisation, and others. Besides research collaboration, the two parties may also conduct or participate in relevant seminars and workshops. SMU will thus be able to build closer links with MHA and its statutory boards as the MOU paves the way for increased tie-ups between the two organisations.
